Keiran Barry B.Ex.Sc – Managing Director, Physiologist

Keiran has more than 25 years’ experience in the fitness industry. He has trained hundreds of people of all ages and fitness levels, from total novices through to many professional athletes in a variety of sports.

He’s coached at Commonwealth and Olympic Games, owned and ran gym’s, corporate fitness businesses and written numerous articles. Keiran’s unique experience ensures he has an in depth understanding of human physiology and what each individual needs to feel their best.

With over 9 years experience within the fitness industry in numerous roles on club level along with international experience including opening up a health club in Central London. I am and have always been passionate about health and fitness. I strongly believe in a necessity for an active and balanced lifestyle

Sarah Rodd – Client Relations Manager

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.

Sarah fell in love with the stillness and balance of yoga, she followed her passion by completing her 200HR certification and then continued her training to specialise in yoga for children and family, studying at the Rainbow Kids Yoga Academy in Melbourne.

Drawing on her own life experiences, extensive travel, and her love of the outdoors, Sarah was inspired to live a more holistic lifestyle. As client relation manager at The Well her true passion is making a difference in people’s lives just by guiding our members to feel 100% every day.

Grace Cherote – Creative and Events Manager

Grace Cherote – Creative and Events Manager

With over 15 years of working in the music industry as a performer, and + 10 years in events coordination, Grace uses her skills of creativity, and problem solving to produce shows, events, workshops and seminars. Grace excels at coordination and operations, and her attention to detail means that events are fluid from concept to completion.

Chantel Pham – Head Chef

Chantel has had over 20 years of experience in the western culinary world, in recent years she has decided to create modern fusion food inspired by her south-east Asian heritage. 

She has grabbed the attention of major food critics and foodies through her own successful restaurant in Surry Hills. Her passion which has now become her mission is to bring organic healthy food to the next level of deliciousness!

Ivalu Otaiza – Head Chef

With over 15 years experience as a chef, Ivalu has worked for fine dining establishments, Spanish wine bars, and whole food restaurants. Born and raised in Sydney to Chilean parents he developed an early interest in exercise, nutrition and cooking delicious food.

His chef journey began working in Melbourne’s renowned two hat Spanish restaurant Movida under Frank Camorra. Since then his deep love of food has taken him to London, working in French bistros and Spanish tapas bars as senior sous chef of two rosette Spanish tapas bar Barrafina. In 2010 after a small stint working in Spain he finally came home to Sydney.

The next five years he would work for Icebergs in Bondi and then once again join the Movida team to open Movida Sydney in Surry Hills. In 2016 as head chef of Movida Sydney he finally reached a crossroads in his career. The food he was cooking at home was not the same food he was cooking in his restaurants. This passion for good clean healthy food led him to part ways with Movida and take up a role as senior sous chef at Sol Botanica in Vaucluse. A gluten-free restaurant with a menu based on nutritious principles.

Joining the team as head chef of the Well cafe and armed with a certificate in nutritional sciences he has finally come full circle. At The Well cafe, his vision is to develop a menu that is not only highly nutritious but super tasty.

Jade Aastha – Massage Therapist

Jade brings together her vast experience of yoga, massage, reiki and meditation and combines these modalities into holistic living. With over 11 years experience as a qualified therapist, she has run retreats abroad, collaborated in building conscious communities, facilitated workshops and now runs courses in massage in Sydney. Jade has a passion to learn, teach and to inspire others about the importance of creating a harmonious relationship between the body and mind. Jade adapts her massage practice to fit the individual based on their presenting needs.

Cloe Bunter – Pilates Instructor

Cloe originally started attending Pilates classes in 2010. She quickly fell in love with the creativity of the Pilates method and the adaptability for all ages and levels of fitness, prompting her to study Pilates and leave the corporate world for good in 2012.

Following a successful teaching career in Melbourne, Cloe made a sea change to Sydney’s Bondi Beach where she has become a highly sought after teacher in well respected studios across the eastern suburbs. Cloe has completed Breathe Education Cert IV Pilates, STOTT Mat Pilates, KX Pilates Dynamic Reformer and KX Barre, and is currently finalising a Diploma of Clinical Pilates with Breathe Education and set to be a Teacher Trainer for 2018.

Her classes are intelligent, challenging, high energy and fun. Cloe’s motto: “Fearless, Joyful Movement.”

Brooke Lockett – Barre Instructor

After 12 years in the game professionally Brooke Lockett became one of Australia’s most recognised ballet dancers. Brooke began dancing at the age of 3 in her hometown of Ballarat before being accepted into The Australian Ballet School at 13 to complete her Advanced Diploma in Dance. In 2006 she was offered a much sought after contract with The Australian Ballet. Brooke has frequented the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Arts Centre and toured around the world with the company to the UK, Auckland, Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. Dancing in all of the companies repertoire over the past decade and accumulating many career highlights over her illustrious 12 year career Brooke has made a huge impact on and off the stage. In June this year, she decided to hang up her pointe shoes in the much loved role of the Canary Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty and leap into new adventures beyond the stage. Brooke continues to be an Ambassador for The Australian Ballet and the art form and has collaborated with the likes of Ballerina Project, TuTu du Monde, The Upside, Mecca Cosmetica, Napoleon Perdis, Bobbi Brown and AIA Vitality to name a few.

With a strong passion for body awareness, health, wellness and sharing the joy of dance, Brooke feels teaching a traditional ballet barre at the Well seems like the perfect fit. Whether you have never danced before or you want to reignite the love you once had for ballet this class is for you. She draws you in under her spell with her charm and beauty and a killer ballet workout which leaves you feeling empowered, sore in all the right places, challenged and wanting more. Exercise and art have been a part of Brooke’s world her entire life so she believes passing that on and exchanging energy is a true gift.

Wes Montgomery – Physiotherapist

Wes is an experienced physiotherapist with us here at The Well Bondi, as well as a practice in the city and is also local to the Eastern Beaches. Wes has progressed his physiotherapy by completing the strength and conditioning courses EXOS Phase 1 + 2, and ASCA Level 1. In recent years he has broadened his experience by working with high level athletes at the South Sydney Rabbitohs (NRL), GWS Giants (AFL) and the World Surf League (WSL).

Being an avid surfer and AFL player himself, Wes understands the importance of keeping the body fit and healthy, together with a belief in a holistic approach to health which he brings into his treatment approaches.  Whether training for health or high performance sport, Wes has the knowledge, experience and passion to get his patients back to where they need to be and beyond. 

Caroline Fitzgerald Exercise-Physiologist

Caroline is an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist, completing her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2015, and working with both clinical and healthy populations since then. She is also a certified clinical Pilates (advanced) instructor (Pilates Institute of QLD) for both matwork and equipment Pilates, as well as completing the KX Pilates Dynamic Reformer course in 2017.

Caroline has a passion for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and loves integrating Pilates methods into each one of her client’s training programs to provide them with the best possible results.

Ryan excelled at college in coaching and Biomechanics, experimenting on himself in as many disciplines as he had time to learn in a gym environment, excelling in Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, Olympic lifting and Crossfit. As well as partaking in these different movement styles for self-growth, Ryan’s philosophy has always been to practice what he preachs. Ryan is also qualified as a Sports and Remedial massage therapist to gain a more in depth understanding of the anatomy of the human body, this helped him discover how the human body is connected, muscles are just cogs in a chain of events that lead to every move we make.

Jason Gilbert – Chiropractor

Jason has been a member of the World Surfing Leagues medical team for the last twenty years. He has recently returned to Australia after spending almost two decades in Brazil and Peru where he managed the largest chain of Chiropractic / Wellbeing clinics in Latin America, lectured at universities, consulted companies on ergonomics to minimise injuries in the workplace and authored the book, ‘The Secret of the Healthy Spine’.

Jason is passionate about accompanying people on their journey to health. He is a human performance optimiser who uses a variety of modalities to enhance health and wellbeing independently of what level of health his patients possess. Much of his knowledge of health and detoxification methods have been acquired in the last 15 years throughout his own personal challenge of ridding his body from extremely high levels of mercury.  Using live blood analysis as an important tool of studying human health, Jason is able to monitor and empower his patients in regards to diet, detoxification methods and exercise with an overall purpose of optimising human performance. He offers a holistic approach to health with the ultimate aim of providing people with the tools necessary to maintain their own health at its highest level.

Luke is an experienced chiropractor new to The Well Bondi, having spent the past 2 years working in a sports practice in Crows Nest. Luke has progressed his knowledge further by completing a number of functional movement courses, Musculoskeletal Dry Needling certification, and Sports Trainer courses. He’s been exposed to a variety of populations; from everyday patient to elite athlete, particularly in the fields of powerlifting, athletics and waterpolo.
Having played high level sport throughout his teen years (waterpolo and swimming) and with a strong passion for functional training, the importance of movement therapy and exercise has come to the forefront of treatment, as he works to not only treat ones pain, but find the root cause of dysfunction, and help bridge the gap between preventing injury, rehabilitation and ultimately performance, whatever level that may be!

Mitch Patience – Acupuncture Therapist

Mitch Patience is a practitioner of Chinese Medicine with over 15 years of training and clinical experience as an acupuncturist, herbalist and Transformational Kinesiologist.

Mitch received his degree at The Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and continued his studies in China, completing a clinical internship at the PRC Guangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine with distinctions.

Since completing his degree, Mitch runs a private practice in Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs, also offering his acupuncture services to a busy community acupuncture clinic in Bondi and Bondi Beach.

Mitch is constantly adding to the already extensive therapies he practices. Treatments with Mitch combines a unique blend of Chinese traditions, Esoteric healing along with well balanced nutritional and lifestyle advice. All treatments are holistic, effective and actively supportive in the achievement of immediate and long-term goals.

Dr Phil Austin – Osteopath

Phil has more than twenty years’ experience working as an osteopath in New Zealand, UK, Sweden and Australia and holds a PhD in pain medicine. Phil’s clinical areas of interest include the treatment of computer-related musculoskeletal pain conditions and the effects of work-related stress on the severity and duration of persistent pain.

Phil combines his clinical work with research where he is presently investigating clinical methods of predicting the extent and severity of pain in people with chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Phil is also a member of the Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council and a leader in the Chronic Pain Practice Group, works as a clinical tutor for the M.Sc in Clinical Management of Pain, while also being involved in various areas of palliative care research at Greenwich Hospital in Sydney.

Aurelie Muhl – Kinesiologist

Aurelie is a holistic Kinesiologist and completed the Diploma of Kinesiology at the College of Complementary Medicine in Sydney. She is also currently finishing the diploma of Mind, Body Medicine.

Aurelie’s mission is to assist you with achieving your goals; optimal wellbeing and health by uncovering what may be holding you back; removing personal road blocks, stresses and limitations and creating the space required for being and expressing your true self.

Originally from France, she moved to Australia about 10 years ago and has always been passionate about making a difference for people. She graduated as a Doctor in Pharmaceutical Science and started working in the industry.

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology uses muscles as monitors to access holistic information held by the core-operating unit of the entire body-mind system; the subconscious. About 90% of our mind is subconscious.

Kate Spina – Nutritionist

Kate is a qualified nutritionist with a particular interest in preventative health, oncology care, mood and anxiety disorders, gut health and food intolerances. Kate can also help you with hormonal imbalances, inflammatory disorders and immune support.

Kate believes nourishing food is the cornerstone of good health and the key to healthy longevity. She loves improving the energy and vitality of her clients within a space that is caring, sincere and non-judgemental. Kate combines her nutrition qualifications with nearly 2 decades of professional cooking. Not only can she tailor a nutritional plan to your specific needs and goals, she can translate that advice into practical tips and achievable, delicious recipes that work for you.

Kate also runs workshops that combine the latest in nutritional advice with delicious recipes.

Gabrielle Richardson – Nutritionist

Gabby has a love of food and the power it has to improve all aspects of health including energy levels, digestion, sleep, skin health, mental health, fertility and recovery from training and illness.

Depending on your individual needs, Gabby will assess your diet and work with you to make changes to ensure you are enjoying a well balanced and delicious variety of high-quality foods that meet your needs for optimal health. She can also advise and supply appropriate supplementation including vitamins, minerals and probiotics if you need extra support to get well and maintain good health.

With a background in aromatherapy, Gabby also has experience in supporting people with detoxing their lives from potentially harmful household and skin care products including cleaning products, insecticides and personal care products.

Anna-Maria Boelkov – Nutritionist, Doula

With a profound respect for natural medicine, Anna-Maria sees daily benefits in her own life as well as when working with her clinic patients, by going back to basics and use food as medicine. Anna-Maria also uses herbal medicine and nutritional supplements for additional support.

Anna Maria works to find the underlying cause of her patients’ symptoms to restore health at a cellular level, which helps prevent recurrence of infections and disease and ensures a long-lasting solution. Anna-Maria specialises in digestive issues, women’s health, pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery as well as children. She works with women of all ages – and their families – and help educate them about their bodies and making the right choices for optimal health and wellbeing. She completed her initial teacher training at the distinguished “Yoga Works” school in Los Angeles and is well versed in all forms of hatha yoga. Pursuing further studies in meditation, anatomy and energetic alignment has allowed Jody to develop an enriched and dynamic teaching ethos. Her teaching process and philosophy are further complemented by tertiary degrees in education and the performing arts.
